The Kryptonite Ultimate Front End Kit is a complete steering system upgrade designed for 1988–1992 GM C and K Series trucks and SUVs. This kit replaces every major moving component in the factory steering system, eliminating excessive play while restoring precise, predictable steering control. It is engineered for trucks that see increased loads from towing, larger tires, lifted suspensions, or aggressive 4x4 use, without sacrificing smooth on-road drivability.
Each component in this kit is part of Kryptonite’s Death Grip Series, built to withstand significantly higher stresses than OEM steering parts. Forged components, heavy-duty tie rod assemblies, and a high-strength 1144 high-carbon steel center link work together to reduce flex, improve steering response, and maintain proper geometry under load. Corrosion-resistant coatings and greasable rod ends allow for regular service, extending component life and ensuring consistent performance over time.
Designed as a direct bolt-on replacement, the Ultimate Front End Kit installs with no modifications and retains the factory turning radius. It is compatible with stock, leveled, and lifted trucks using modern lift designs that retain factory-style steering geometry. Important Fitment Notes:
- If you're installing the Kryptonite SS Series Centerlink on a leveled or lifted truck, you may need longer sway bar end links to provide clearance for our oversized tie rod bodies. We recommend using the KRFDEL02 end links.
- Will not work on Control Arm Drop / Drop Set Steering Lift kits: Older style lifts on these trucks will relocate the upper control arms and use drop set steering which lowers the center link, rather than a taller spindle. These lifts were phased out nearly industry wide around 2010.
